Deep Feed 010

Deep N Beeper is back, with a special installment of his DEEP FEED series. Number 10 is the first time he's hit a power of 10 with the series and probably the last, as even his proliferism probably won't stretch that far before he expires! But on a happier note this is the first time (for some weird reason) he's joined by his long-time partner in audio crime DRNO1 (AKA Zookeeper on a lot of their previous collabs).

The title track "Simulation Theory" is DRNO1's brainchild where he spits reality as strong as the feeling we have about The Matrix's splinter in our minds, bugging us.

The music is a warped form of futurist hip-hop/bass music hybrid and Deep N Beeper's usual production style is not amiss. Later on in the EP DRNO1 goes even harder into story telling mode with "Mushroom Theory", which you have to hear to believe! "Under-G VIP (The Turing Test Remix)" is a distorted DNB remix of one of Deep N Beeper's most classic tracks.

Also returning after killing it on DEEP FEED 008 is Sean Cocktail: 2 other techy tracks are laced with his deep, progressive, classical guitar playing, processed lovingly and trippily by himself and Deep N Beeper.

Even if 100 is never reached ... a hell of a lot more genre-busting vibes are coming: keep listening to this space.

Deep Feed 009

Deep Feed 009 is here. @deepnbeeper brings another instalment in his original and experimental EP series where he usually tends to warp people's expectations of the bass music modus operandi.

First up is a milestone in his music, as well as his life outside this sphere: his son, aged one, brings some cute, giggly vox with his comic alias Teat Collapser! This is perfectly contrasted by the deep, aged, gravel lyrics and some nifty acoustic guitar from a newcomer to his arena, Julian Michael Power. The track is, of course, trippy and the bass has a timbre and wobble usually only reserved for Deep N Beeper's productions. We will, as the title pronounces, never melt!

Listen to: 'Love Now!'

Moving on we have the second track: The Pipes Are Calling - i... DR3_AMu_R^R_3AL Remix. Possibly the most epic of the tracks on the EP, it contains some intricate drum patterns but more importantly the lead swells and with just the right distortion brings the whole affair to a lovely climax.

Third there is the ACIDoctor's prescription! The cut up modular growls from the original start the track off and then Ricochet comes in on "guitar"! He did play, but Deep N Beeper mangled it so much the original timbre is unrecognisable. There is also some deep fluid 808 type sounds from a drum machine to vibrate you into submission!

The penultimate track is a dubstep affair where Deep N Beeper remixes his old track Unlabelled Medicine. Rumblely and hallucinogenic, it is also minimal, and builds after the break to a crescendo of saturated bass.

Finally he is joined by his pet slugs! A long outro to the EP, the trippiness and modular is cranked to 11 and the whole thing fades to black.

Enjoy... and number 010 is on the horizon too.

PEACE

PUSHING LIGHT EP

  • Release Date: 21/04/2023

First comes File Under Futurism, where Deep N Beeper is joined by Ricochet, a friend, guitarist & lyricist from his hometown of Romsey.

Listen to: 'In Fear Of A Red Planet Feat. Onepacman and Ambre'

Deep N BeeperAs his vocal moniker, Onepacman, spits about some deep metaphysical reality as he sees it, Ricochet brings some serious fire on the mic too. Earlier the scene is set by an excerpt from a Lex Fridman podcast asking: where do our deepest ideas and beliefs come from (within DNA)? Ricochet smashes out some hard guitar work, and Deep N Beeper runs it through some dirty analog plasma distortion, everything is laid on a tidy beat and some interesting bass patterns.

Next up his longtime pal and MC, DRNO1, turns up the heat to 11 with his rugged and thoughtful freestyle. He was inspired by Deep N Beeper’s avantgarde beats, synths and dnb sounding bassline on the track Acid Rain, and you can even hear that in the flow! Also joining him in the booth was DRNO1’s longtime friend and another badman MC Snagga1 who doesn’t disappoint either.

Then onto the track that inspired the name of the EP, for the positive vibes and deep journey that Lowki takes you on. Originally from Onepacman’s debut trip-hop album, Escaping The Arcade, The Paradigm is Freedom is given a hard, beat-mashing, synth-smashing dnb update that won’t disappoint fans of techstep and neuro. Onepacman also drops a nugget or two as the track clatters on.

The penultimate track is a deep roller kind of vibe and Onepacman is joined by his wife, Ambre. They bring thoughts and feelings about the current climate crisis to the track, contrasting to the sample of Niander Wallace from a Bladerunner short.

Finally another techstep/neuro offering from Deep N Beeper. He is joined by another friend from his local town, Fleur Whitfield who brings her epic vocalistion. The track is a remix of a current WIP, written by Fleur called Lukas, in honour of her friend by that name.

The art is beautiful too and is by Adrian Davies, another old friend of Deep N Beeper.

All in all, as usual, expect difference from the norm, and as usual Deep N Beeper fails to disappoint.
